Net Zero Challenge 2021

“The world is moving to net zero, and BlackRock believes that our clients are best served by being at the forefront of that transition.”

- Larry Fink

As per Larry Finks recent letter to CEOs and Clients, BlackRock is committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050—getting there requires transparency and action from not only governments, corporations, but all of its employees.

Net zero is about reducing GhG emissions, so that over time we can achieve an overall balance between emissions produced and emissions removed from the atmosphere. By calculating our own carbon emissions and committing to specific improvements—we can each be part of the solution, just as BlackRock has committed to do.

BlackRock has recently challenged their employees to take part in a Net Zero Challenge

How does it work?

The aim is to get everyone to make at least one commitment by Earth day (April 22). With a 17,000 strong workforce, if everyone gets involved this will be some impactful change.
